What does it mean to give God your time and how do you give God your time?

Time is abstract, cannot be handled physically yet it is the most valuable treasure a man can have in this world. Time is precious, cannot be recovered once lost, time cannot be recycled. As precious as time is, if it is not wisely utilized, it becomes destructive in the hand of a person without purpose in life. If one doesn't know what to do with his or her time, the devil always know how to keep that person occupied.

How can one give God his time?

You can give God your time by engaging in any of the following:

1) Evangelism: You can give God your time by telling others about God's love, how He so much loved us that He sent His only begotten son to die for us. This commission however is not only meant for pastors but every believer, every christian has been given the mandate to reconcile the world to God. The good thing about it is that you don't have to be a pastor before you can tell others about God's love.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. [18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

2) Praying for the unsaved souls: you can also give God your time by setting a time to pray for souls that are not saved that God should draw them closer to Himself so their hearts will be ready to receive God's word with ease.

John 6:65 NIV
He went on to say, "This is why I told you that no-one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him."

3) Interceding for pastors and missionaries:

Set out time to pray for pastors and missionaries for God to fill them with spirit of confidence and boldness. These great men and women need our prayers, and if it is possible mention them by name in your prayers - that is, the once you know.

Colossians 4:3 KJV
Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

1 Thessalonians 5:25 KJV
Brethren, pray for us.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 KJV
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: [2] And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

Hebrews 13:18 KJV
Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

In all the references above, you know that they need our prayers as well. Some Christians feel that because they are men of God - they pray and miracles happen they do not need prayers at all. They do need prayers, if you do not know what to pray for, prayer points are mentioned in most of the verses. Make it your habit today, donate 10 minutes of your time to the ambassadors of the gospel and God will surely bless you. There is so much we can do on our knees in that 10 minutes.

4) By supporting pastors especially the missionaries and also encouraging them. The missionaries face danger most. They face weather cruility, language barrier, mosquito bites, insufficient food supply and so many other challenges. These great ambassadors of the gospel needs support and encouragement.

1 Corinthians 9:11 KJV
If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

Galatians 6:6 KJV
Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

5) By supporting the weak. Jesus said if you help any of these little children, you equally are doing it to me.

Matthew 25:44-45 KJV
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? [45] Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 KJV
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men .

6) Encouraging those that face difficulty so their faith be strengthened.

1 Thessalonians 5:11-13 KJV
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. [12] And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; [13] And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
