Christians today are slowly drifting away from God's plan and desire for the church (body of Christ). This is a problem and is becoming a thing of concern in the church. When Jesus came, He came to redeem us and to give us a new life - but that was not His only desire. He desired that we be one, be in unity! Jesus did not give us religion to follow, He gave us life and a path to follow. Today however, we consider the buildings in which we worship as church rather than the unity of believers. It has reached a stage where some pastors fight over members, members of this church try as much as possible to win members of that Church and forgets about evangelism. While some pastors don't talk to each other some even fight. The thing is that there is no unity in the church today. How can we do exploit if we are not united? Other pastors forbids their members from visiting other churches but would ask their members to invite others, for how long will these go on?? These things happen and we need to trace back our roots. There is need for a body that govern Christians to be strong.
Jesus prayed that we may be one - for Him to pray that prayer it must be very important. If we are not united we will not even be able to effectively spread the gospel.
Unity is what makes us strong and to be united we must keep national differences, tribal and family differences aside. In Christ we are one! Take it upon yourself to pray for unity in the body of christ today - and most importantly you should look at your fellow christian like an unbeliever.
