The true meaning of blessing

Material gifts are often mistaken as blessings. Are material gifts really blessings? Should blessings be defined by the gifts an individual receives? What really is a blessing?
Blessing is not and should not be likened to material gifts that we receive from friends.

2. and he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death:
3. Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some vensions;
4. And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Genesis 27:2-4

From the above passage you will notice that Isaac wasn't talking about material gifts rather he spoke words; however the words he spoke were not ordinary words, the words contain power to make the recipient prosper.

Blessing is not the material gift we receive from friends, it is a force that causes us to succeed and prosper.

A person that is blessed always prospers in all he or she does. The same goes for a that is cursed; no matter how hard he or she works, the hardworking always lead to nowhere. A person that is blessed applies only little effort and the job is done.
Blessing is a propelling force not material gifts.
